When children are learning the alphabet, it's essential that they recognize and remember the shapes of letters. Shapes and sounds are what understanding the alphabet is all about.
So when San Diego artist Holly Sood was teaching her daughter, Amaya, the alphabet, Holly hid the letters inside imaginative watercolors. Then she encouraged Amaya to find the letter shapes in each picture and trace them with her finger.
It was fun and it worked! These watercolors were the birth of Amaya and Zades ABZs. The Picture Book and Art prints of individual letter watercolors are coming soon. In the meantime, check out What Is Love? on Amazon.
